Strategy is a commodity, execution is an art. —Peter Drucker In everything you do, there must be a plan; a well-noted quote attributed to Benjamin Franklin states, "Failing to plan is planning to fail" the planning phase is crucial and must be carried out with diligence. The Franklin quote leads to another quote which is most often attached to Abraham Lincoln about planning, " Give me six hours to chop down a tree, and I will spend the first four sharpening the ax.” As educators, what do we consider when developing the strategy to carry out the plan? Do we take into consideration the members of the team? Do we look for the student's voice? Community voice? Do take into account Futurists making their predictions? 

Success doesn’t come in a day, but daily!

In today's society, we expect instant gratification and if it doesn't happen we are disappointed or want to quit. Just as I went to the gym three days in a row last week, so now I should have instantly lost weight, seriously I worked hard during those sessions where is the outcome? This takes me to a quote I heard from   Dr.  Adolph Brown:  "The tree is in the seed!"  This is profound as everything starts with a seed! There are some key areas to attend to in helping this seed make it to its full maturation:  the planting  the cultivation of the soil  watering fertilizing weeding the harvest The Planting: This is the envisioning stage, the time where you plant the seed for the desired outcome you want #paintthepicture. Hello Blog World!!!!

I have toyed with writing my own blog and a book for several years... but after reading "The 5 Second Rule" by Mel Robbins, I decided to do it TODAY!!! Plus its cold outside which is typical in the month of April in the great State of Michigan. I envision this blog being a place/format to share some of my thoughts on learning and leading along with having some discourse on different topics. So let me know what you think!
